Anyone ever hear of a dead show from the early 80's with guest drummer Billy Cobham tearing it up with the band ?

Thanks

Jazz Is Dead: http://www.effingham.com/bishop/BillyCobhamInterview.htm

Article from Drummer World:
"In 1977, Cobham switched to the CBS label, which set him firmly on the path of commercial accessibility. In addition to his records as a leader, he'd remained highly active as a session drummer, and began to focus on that side of his career even more in the late '70s. By 1980, he was done with CBS and began pursuing side opportunities,
playing live with the Grateful Dead and Jack Bruce"

Played with Bobby and the Midnites in 1982

Halloween 1980 at Radio City he sat in on Drums/Space/Other one

hey SDH, are you sure he sat in on Halloween 1980? I have that show on vid ( both the official release and the unedited complete version as well ) and I don't remember seeing any extra drummer. EXCELLENT druns>space>Fire btw. The way they seque into Fire out of space is one of their all time masterpeices imo.

I saw him at the Greek one year with the boys.

BTW, it was him and Alphonso in Bobby and the Midnites that turned me into a deadhead. Had seen the boys, but was young and didn't get it. Was really into Billy's "Spectrum" album and went to see him and Alphonso in some band in high school at the Atlanta Agora. All those cute hippie chicks turned my head (and life) around.

I wish you had "turned your head" in Richmond. I might not have lost a pair of perfectly good shoes.

Sorry. It was instinct. I saw the LL Bean label and had to let it go.

Hope all is well.
